Posted by Kevin Kenneally on January 30, 2013 at 4:33pm Can someone recommend a legitimate Casting Agency who handles Virginia (especiallty Southern Virginia)?....I have a Virginia friend who is looking to do (non-union) background work, and almost signed up with a scam outfit. Any recommendations appreciated

Posted by Jeff Bellin on December 6, 2012 at 11:41am Hello,
We are looking for locations to shoot in the US (I am the US producer, in the event we don't shoot in Europe - wherever the money comes from to make the film, that's the country we have to shoot in). Personally I thought California would be the most qualified but they are apparently (and understandably) less concerned with helping out films - obvious reasons why.
Louisiana and Chicago were two locations that were given to me by my exec producer, who lives in Europe. Does anyone have their own opinion in terms of this? I've looked at states' tax incentives for film, usually for 1 mill or higher, and Louisiana seemed to have the most validation as well as the best studios, which we'll need to shoot in. Would love everyone's take on this.
