Event Description

On Friday May 6, Kitty's Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting A Night of Comedy featuring Belmont native and National comedienne Giulia Rozzi. Giulia, co-founder of the critically acclaimed traveling show "Stripped Stories" and featured on MTV, NBC and Jimmy Kimmel, will be joined by Ellen Moschetto ( Boston Comedy Festival,The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store) and Josh Gondelman (Boston Comedy Festival, Quiet Desperation).

This ...show is a fundraiser for the short film Two Solitudes (Twosolitudesfilm.com). Written and directed by Boston area actor David Pulson ( The Fighter, GrownUps), Two Solitudes, a magical story about the healing power of friendship in tragic times, has attracted an array of talent, including special effects master Ben Chester (Star Trek Voyager, Doctor Doolittle, Being John Malkovich), Emmy Award winning editor Jeff Reilly ( Ali 65-ESPN) and cinematographer Adrian Correia (Friends With Benefits, Freezer Burn) and Stars Matt Heron Duranti, Sari Gagnon, Michelle Rae, Sophie Frieden and Elena Rozzi Pellegrino. Mixing styles inspired by Tim Burton and Jean Cocteau, the film is shot almost entirely without dialogue, testing the true storytelling talents of everyone involved.

The script has placed as a finalist in the Bridge International Screenplay Competition in NYC, chosen from over 1000 entries from 42 countries, and is currently competing in the BlueCat Fellini Awards in Los Angeles. Shooting this summer, tentatively at Boston's new Quixote Studios, the film will hit the festival circuit, hoping to win Oscar nomination for Live Action Narrative Short.

"Two Solitudes is a film for everyone who has ever felt alone, depressed and helpless in their problems." explains Pulson. "The message is: No one is ever truly alone... life is a shared experience and we are meant to reach out and help each other in times of need. Our compassion is what makes us human."

Kitty's is located at 123 Main St, North Reading, MA 01864. Tickets are $25 and will be sold at the door. Doors open at 6pm to meet the filmmakers and participate in a Silent Auction sponsored by local businesses. A full Menu will also be available. The Comedy show begins at 8pm. Email David Pulson at twosolitudesfilm@gmail.com
for more or to donate items and/or services for the auction.
