Youth Actors Training Program

Mastering Acting Technique on Camera for Youth for 10 to 14 year olds
This workshop is intended for 10 to 14 year-olds who are highly motivated in pursuing an acting career. In this course students will work on the craft of acting with an emphasis placed on developing and understanding the importance of personal style and technique. Students will learn the fundamentals of a cold reading, how to slate, audition preparation and how to deliver a compelling performance. Meisner repetition exercises will be utilized during each session. The purpose of this course is to help each student to conquer the challenges of the acting industry while maintaining their passion and unique brilliance. There will be a mock audition where students will have an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. Students get to keep a video tape of the progress of their work and the audition. At the end of the class students will have an audition slot. Students must demonstrate a successful audition to be eligible for the Showcase Performance. The audition and show case are considered part of the training and class meetings.

Improvisation for Youth

Focusing on theater games and improvised scene work this class uses the student’s imagination and creativity to their fullest potential. Students learn the basic techniques of Improv, create their own characters, and learn to perform as an ensemble building confidence and making new friends along the way.  This is a super FUN class and a great introduction to acting.

Time: 10:00am to 11:30am
