Jordan Burt (writer, director) unfortunately hit and killed an illegal Mexican immigrant worker, while driving home from church one night in north county San Diego. He was a teenager at the time. A tragic but true story, the subject of which, along with the issue of illegal immigration in America was made into an interesting and informative film called "The Silent" in 2006. The award-winning short film was selected for various film festivals throughout the U.S.
