Learn, share and promote your talents...to get hired!
What New England Actor is:
1. A site for professional actors to promote their work and talents, seek work, learn, experience and share their knowledge. Each actor's page needs to reflect their talents and professionalism as an actor, model or voice artist, just like other professional acting web sites.
2. A site for casting directors, companies, directors, agents, etc. to find, review and contact talent.
3. A wholly owned division or subsidiary of CustomersFirst.com Corp. Click here for more information.
What New England Actor is not:
A place for sharing photos, videos, stories, blogs, etc "a la Facebook" that do not help you get hired or called for an audition.
Note: just being in a commercial or movie, especially as background, does not instantly make you an actor and may not be sufficient to join New England Actor.
In most cases, your full name (first & last), is required. Unless you're Bono, Cher, Madonna or Gandhi anyone seeking to hire you will want to know your full name and may even search on it.
Note There is an annual fee of $10. If you're approved, you will have 30 days free in which to learn, use and decide whether NE Actor is right for you. You will receive an email from the domain "CustomersFirst.com," indicating the ending date of your free period. By this date, the $10 annual fee is due.
When you see the pay wall upon logging in, you can use a major CC or send a check (before the end of the 30-day period) payable to:
New England Actors c/o
CustomersFirst.com Corp.
PO Box 33
Natick, MA 01760
Before applying, please have ready the following:
1) You must be at least 18 years of age.
2) A professional looking head shot (8 x 10) to upload as your Profile Photo. This is the first item someone sees when reviewing your page, it must show your professionalism as an actor (an amateur photo of you in your back yard is an example of what not to upload).
3) The town or city in which you currently reside.
4) Your email address and phone number
5) The URL (web address) of your acting web site if you have one. Examples include: Agency Pro, NY Casting, Actors Access, YourName.com or even a dedicated "fan" or "like" page on Facebook (see example here).
6) Age Range: your real age look. NOT what you think you could look like with makeup.
7) Use the following format to list your PHYSICAL TRAITS and SKILLS. Do NOT use phrases or sentences like "I can water ski like a pro" - Just type "water-ski" or "water skiing" -
Please use the following format: Here's an example (click the image):
PHYSICAL TRAITS:
Ethnicity:
Height:
Eyes:
Hair length:
Hair color:
Dress:
Suit:
Inseam:
Waist:
Etc.
Etc.
SKILLS:
Use, action, words, separated, by, a, comma, do, not, use, phrases, list, any, and, every, kind, of, skill, you, have, even, driving
Please review the List of Skills page under the "How To..." tab.
8) A listing of your significant acting work. Please do not only write "See Resume," "Upon Request" or another Web site, as Casting Directors, producers etc. will not want to spend more time to see your experience (after writing your notable experience, you certainly my add a link to your resume or another web site). You may show background work, but just background work, school, church or unknown video productions (i.e. amateur) may not be sufficient. Include production names, directors, dates and your role.
Do not write phrases, sentences or paragraphs and use a format that is easy to read, such as this:
Film
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" - Role: Benjamin Button - 2008 - Dir. David Fincher.
TV
"Cheers" - Role: Sam Malone - 1985-1992
Theater
"West Side Story" - Role: shark - Broadway 1955
Commercial
99 Restaurant - Role: Dad - Red Tree Productions 2010
9) List of any acting classes (name of teacher, casting agent, year taken, etc). This is not a prerequisite, but certainly enhances a submission that is lacking experience.
10) Any other work, charities, events, etc. in which you're involved. Why? shows a little bit more about you and perhaps some film project needs this an actual type of worker or person.
Please do NOT type in all capital letters. This is considered "yelling" in email and on the web, it also makes it difficult to read for the person visiting your page.
