Jennifer Gjulameti: Actress

BIO:

Artistic visionary, intellectual, entrepreneur.  Raised in Boston and New York, I am an Alumna of New York University, and did my B.A., M.A., and advanced graduate studies toward my Ph.D. on Shakespeare. I'm a SAG actress; an independent film producer with a number of feature film projects in development; a writer/wordsmith; an educator, who has taught Shakespeare, literature, and writing on the university level; a former talent manager for LA and NYC; and a versatile dancer in Eastern and Western forms.

Current writing projects other than my dissertation for my Ph.D., include "The Forgotten", a feature length screenplay/family drama based on my father's battle with, and passing from, Alzheimer's disease; a feature dark romantic comedy called “Pygmalia” -- which is a cautionary Ovidian tale on fashioning the perfect male; and an untitled bio pic/art film on a 20th Century Jewish intellectual.

I usually play strong, sexy, smart/educated women and have been described by New York casting directors as an Angelina Jolie type. However, I also play more vulnerable, compassionate, mother/wife roles, and even comedic ones. I was one of my father’s caretakers, and from 6 years of doing elder care developed a deep sense of compassion for those in need. I endeavor to bring all of these layers and complexities to both my characters and writing.
