Last week our first film showing of Inventory, made me very happy, just to play a little omage to Jackie Chan..

So as I sat in the theatre at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, getting ready to see Inventory on the big screen for the

first time, I was happy.

I had already seen the film, from a dvd I received from the director Justin Fielding about 101 times.

I guess you can say we were all happy, the whole cast and crew.

I mean, you have to say I am lucky, how many people that are actors, can actually play omage, to their idols, in my case Jackie…

I got in touch with my idol Jackie Chan, well he actually got in touch with me.

If you have a dream, I just say go for it.

Yes, mine, possibly different than most.

I am not going to say how it actually happened, maybe someday, but after 5 years everyday, writing everywhere,

sometimes up to midnite, it finally happened.

But it was the other way around, Jackie friended me, inwhich, I truly thought it was a hoax, but long story short, all I'm going to say, Jackie, well I don't consider him, my idol, I consider a friend…

The Big Step to the Big Apple

Am (relatively) settled in Brooklyn. Nothing quite like moving from a four bedroom house to a New York apartment, but it's worth it. The opportunity to move to NYC presented itself so here I am. However, it doesn't feel much different than Boston as far as the acting thing. This profession is a business and must be approached as such. Now then, in which unpacked box is my business plan....?

Justin Fielding, the director of Inventory, actually wrote into the script, into my character, that I want to work with Jackie Chan...

Won't say too much detail, but what I am allowed to talk about is that this is a slacker film, and has lots of laughs.

Justin Fielding really wrote into the script, my character, Maria/Jackie(Chan) and had me saying through the film, "My name is not Maria, it's Jackie, just like my idol, the man I want to work with".

Justin also wrote me in as a strong woman, lifting tables and chairs, climbing up on ladders and swinging my nun-chucks.

What he did…

I think what I'm looking to work with, are people that are like me--the ones that enjoy the overseas, films with sub-titles...

I guess I might be the oddest person on this site, but to be honest, what I'm looking for are people that are similar like myself.

I don't know if most of the actors or flimmakers that come here are going to be looking for someone like myself, but the types of films I have a passion for are the ones that are like the independent filming, very different, but the actors have extreme passion for those films.

Not just my idol Jackie Chan films, Sammo, Michelle Yo,…

Acting with Cats

Last week I shot another student film, "Lynx Jinxed" playing opposite a real lynx. Now lynxes apparently have never been to film school. The director asks them to move camera right, the lynx will go straight after the cameraman. Ask it to sit and look at the woodcutter (me) and it rolls over for a belly rub. After three days of shooting they called it a wrap and are just hoping there is enough film to tell the story. We'll… Continue

SAG Award Reviews (nominated Films & TV Shows)

I have not seen everything that is nominated and I will vote online tomorrow. This year I was sent 5 excellent DVD's of nominated films to review "for my consideration". For anyone who is not a member or who has never received one of these, often "For Your Consideration" scrolls across the screen at odd moments during the film. This is so you cannot sell it, or so people will know that you should not have sold it or given it away. No worries here, though, because I want to save my copies for my… Continue

..from the MAINE HERALD GAZETTE, this is part of a two-issue article about THE NIGHTINGALE SINGS, and indie short I filmed in Camden ME in August...

ROCKPORT — Fifteen-year-old Camden-area resident

Devin Fletcher was captivated by the opportunity to play the

lead role in a four-actor film by Maine Media Workshops

graduate, Director David Scott.

“I was immediately entranced by the storyline and a chance

to work with such a phenomenal crew,” said Fletcher, herself

a Workshops student, in an interview about the August shoot

of Scott’s short film, “The Nightingales Sing.” The film is an

adaptation of a… Continue

Thanks to Brad & Christine for organizing event Sunday at Ken's Steak House

This group owes Brad and Christine a big "Thank You" for their efforts to organize and deliver a very informative and enjoyable event.

We learned a lot about how to get the most out of the New England Actors site, how people are getting work from it, and that it has spawned 'frites' (friend + sites) across the country.

One item of note for everyone: This site is a volunteer effort by Bradley -- he has spent enormous amount of hours, creating and maintaining the site. The… Continue

Working in Ma as an actor. Newspaper article:

House Speaker Robert DeLeo was noncommittal when I asked him if he would support another effort to water down the tax credits. He said he needed to talk with his chairman on the revenue committee to make sure the program is effective. DeLeo was careful not to sound negative, though, and he conveyed an anecdote about one time earlier this year when he bumped into a number of Massachusetts residents happily at work on the makeshift set of a TV pilot at the State House.

DeLeo seems to… Continue
